چکیده

Arsenic (As) is one of the most common inorganic pollutants; unfortunately, it also toxic and therefore a cause great concern for health risks that could result from it. Removing arsenic soil using phytoremediation approaches an effective strategy, several studies demonstrate ability Cannabis sativa (TSN 19109, hemp) to tolerate this harmful contaminant. The aim work was identify best experimental conditions plan be applied in disused area located Sicily (Italy) contaminated by As, comparing with Brassica juncea 23059) Zea mays 42269, corn). To assist process, chelating agents were tested improve mobility, two different sets arsenic-tolerant bacteria isolated rhizospheric indigenous herbaceous species used promote plant growth, leading significant improvement terms biomass produced phytoextraction. After combined treatment, content aerial part plants increased more than orders magnitude (e.g., 0.05 6.57 mg kg?1, 0.04 6.69 0.03 5.57 kg?1 brassica, corn, hemp, respectively), confirming marked increase total absorption As plants.

Phytoextraction of arsenic from soil by Leersia oryzoides.

The potential of Leersia oryzoides (rice-cut grass) to remediate arsenic-contaminated soil was studied in greenhouse pot experiments. Leersia oryzoides grown in soil amended with arsenic to a concentration of 110 mg kg(-1), extracted up to 305 mg kg(-1) and 272 mg kg(-1) arsenic into its shoots and roots, respectively, giving a shoot:root quotient of 1.12 and phytoextraction coefficients up to ...
